4. If the equipment is not used for a long period of time

We are pleased to advise you to implement the measures listed below as a pre-dormant measure related to your equipment, since there are cases in which smooth operation is impossible when starting up the equipment again after a long period of shutdown from the past.

  • Draining equipment using cooling water such as infrared heating furnaces
The risk of rust and clogging may increase due to water staying inside the heating furnace. Perform air blow, etc. to remove remaining water from the inside of the cooling water passage and dry.
※The drainage process may contribute to the improvement of slight clogging, so it is also effective to implement this process.

    Example)
  • Vacuum seal or inert gas seal for equipment with vacuum evacuation device
When the atmosphere is left in place for a long period of time, various components are adsorbed on the internal surface of the sample system. Therefore, it is anticipated that the degree of vacuum reaching the system will deteriorate and the time required for vacuum drawing will be prolonged when the system is re-operated. Store the product in a vacuum state by closing the respective valves after a sufficient vacuum. Alternatively, after vacuuming, an inert gas is introduced to prevent air from entering.

    Example)
  • Equipment with PLC (programmable controller) units
Owing to the large number of devices with internal batteries, setting information may disappear after a prolonged period of no current is applied. If possible, it is advisable not to turn off the power supply. Before restarting the system, check whether there is any difference from the previous operation.
